An Introduction...

Established in 2022, The Haynes Farm Open is an annual strongman compeition for all abilities, held on our working family farm in Oxfordshire. After a hugely successful competition in 2022, the competition continues to grow year on year, featuring devious farm-related challenges, mind-blowing feats of strength and a trademark mystery event each year.

Ran for local charity - Let's Play (https://letsplaybanbury.org/) - the competition raised over £1,000 in 2022, with even more expected in 2023.

Spectators are always welcome. Come enjoy an incredible day of strength from some of the countries top strongmen and women - BBQ & refreshments available all day!

2024 Haynes Farm Open - The Events

1: Cambridge Deadlift

A staple for the Haynes Farm Open, and we're bringing it back for 2024 - this time slightly heavier.

Athletes will deadlift this slightly raised (12") axle set up for repetitions - with the highest number of reps taking the win.

All straps & chalks allowed - no suits.

WN: 120KG // WI: 150KG // WO: 180KG

MN: 210KG // MI: 250KG // MO: 290KG

2: Keg Toss

A brand new event coming to the Haynes Farm Open. Athletes will throw a series of kegs over a bar for time (each keg will be split timed).

The catch...? The kegs will be the same weight for each category. We'll be testing equipment for this in the coming weeks to give exact weights and heights. (Combine not included)

W/M Novice over 2.5/3m

W/M Inters over 3/4m

W/M Opens over 4/5m

*In the case of consistent rain - we will swap out keg toss for bag throw indoors and it will be a timed medley over 4m*

3: Viking Press

Saaaaaay what???

Viking Press just got cooler. Why have a standard press when you can strap a viking press to the back of a John Deere and load it up with Hay Bales and Kegs?
You will not want to miss this - watch out for double dipping!!

Event weights will be released in the next few weeks, but basically:
Novice: Heavy // Inters: Heavier // Opens: Even Heavier

4: Mystery Event

Devious. Crafty. Gassy. Heavy. Lifty. Pure Evil.

But most importantly... a whole lotta fun.

It wouldn't be the HFO without a mystery event!!

5: Max Atlas Stone

If you got this far and thought... "Wait... no Max event?!" Then fear no longer. A new take on an old classic - the final event of the compeititon we will find out who can lift the heaviest atlas stone. It doesn't get much more strongman than this!

3 Nominated Lifts (PL Style) - all lifts over 45". Tacky, Sleeves & Grip Tops permitted.

Stones available in 10KG jumps - kindly sponsored by Spartan Atlas Stones. https://www.spartanatlasstones.com/
